Let’s talk a bit about vacations. There are multiple reasons that vacations are completely necessary!
One of the reasons that really stand out to me is that it gives people a chance to change their perspective. Vacation gives everyone a chance to change their surroundings and look at life with a new set of eyes. You don’t even need to go anywhere! Staycations are equally as valuable when a break from work is necessary, or to break up the monotony of the routine of everyday life.
This past week, we planned our first trip with our pup to Tahoe. The weather forecast has been less than ideal, but today actually turned out to be pretty warm and dry instead of the forecasted rain and clouds. We were able to hike, take some photos, and enjoy the deck of the place we’re staying.
The cabin we have stayed at hasn’t had all the things we take for granted at home. We were missing a cutting board and had a make it work moment for dinner. We laughed when I said it made me feel like a contestant on Cutthroat Kitchen, a show we watch on Food Network where chefs work under less than ideal conditions. Alton Brown can be quite devious. It makes us thankful for what we have and eager to go home to enjoy our creature comforts. Here are some of the pictures I took! Enjoy!
