Hi Friends!
I’m starting to include some of my travels on the blog as well! It will include some travel tips, pictures – of course, and some of my takeaways from the trip!

It’s always a treat for me to travel.
I get to leave my everyday life, take what is needed to survive for a set number of days, and I usually come back refreshed and with a different perspective. My everyday routines are put on hold, and I’m in a different head space. Sometimes I’m in a different timezone, or country altogether exploring a new culture and soaking up the new experience!
I am lucky enough to have been in New York City a number of times now. I still haven’t done all that there is do to, but I feel less lost and mystified every time I go. I can navigate the Subway pretty well, and luckily have good friends that live here I’m able to visit while I’m there.
Here are my tips for New York City:
- Make a list of what your priorities are, or your top things to do. Also list the location or area those things are in. You can maximize your time by going by neighborhood instead of spending your time running all around town. This goes for restaurants as well as attractions!
- Check out Tour packages- there are a lot of tour buses that hit common hot spots of interest! Sometimes they offer discounted packages for a certain attractions in a booklet or tour.
- Give yourself more time than you think you need when flying out of NYC – I was in the TSA line and there were a steady stream of frantic travelers who were afraid they weren’t going to make their flights in time because they did not anticipate the line being so long!
- Come back! There’s always more to see and do! This trip I went to the 9/11 memorial and visited the Oculus which are newer city attractions that weren’t there the first time I went to visit NYC!
