Hi Friends,
If you follow my Instagram stories, you may have seen that we went to a furniture outlet last weekend!
We got a new desk setup for the guest room! Our new small desk and chair was under $300, because it was 50% off the outlet price, which is already marked down from the retail price! Heck yes! The final pricing was similar or even less than Ikea prices, but the materials were much nicer! Our desk is solid wood versus particle board. The downside is that the stock is not reliable, so you can’t always get what you want when you visit, but their stock is constantly replenished.
I love home furniture outlets because it’s what outlet shopping used to be for retail stores. Overflow of normal stock or displays instead of a separate, usually lower priced and quality outlet line that you see today with J. Crew Factory, and other Factory brands. Furniture shopping also tends to be $$$$ if you want good quality stuff!
Let’s get into the list!
Pottery Barn Outlet – Alameda
1680 Viking St, Bldg 169, Alameda, CA 94501
Thursday – Sunday 10am – 5pm
I found this while in going down an Instagram hole. When we got there, it said that they also carried Williams-Sonoma Home, West Elm, and Pottery Barn Kids. I recommend following them in IG because there is a video every week that discusses what the weekly discounts are. They usually range from 30% to 75% different categories – Office, lighting, bedroom, etc.
I particularly liked that there was a food truck outside this location because it is in the ex-Navy base where they had large warehouses or airplane hangers were located, and there’s not a lot around the immediate area. They also had a table for a truck delivery service in case you bought larger items, and didn’t want to make a separate trip to rent a truck, pick it up, and haul it yourself.
Crate and Barrel Outlet – Berkeley
1785 4th St, Berkeley, CA 94710
M-Sat 10am-7pm, Sun 10am-6pm
This is the place to go for kitchenwares! Glassware, dishes, bowls, flatware, gadgets, tea sets, hand towels, you get the idea! They also have bedding, art, furniture, all the good stuff you see at Crate and Barrel. After I finished grad school and swore never to put together any more furniture, I came here often. (I did eventually break down and put together more furniture years later.)
There is a self pick up where I’ve seen Uhauls or people loading trucks.
4th Street is now a pretty fun shopping area with lots of home stores close by. CB2 across the street, Sur la Table, and Design Within Reach in walkable range!
Update 1/19
This location has moved to Livermore. I haven’t been to the new Livermore location but will provide another update when I do!
Restoration Hardware Outlet – Vacaville
1071 Helen Power Drive, Vacaville, CA 95687
Sunday 10am-6pm, Monday – Saturday 10am-8pm
When we first bought our house in Sacramento, we came here often. We splurged, and bought a huge leather couch at a reasonable price point. We’ve gotten rugs, pillows, and towels, but they will often have outdoor furniture, sinks, mirrors, lighting, solid furniture pieces, really most everything here in their standard neutrals – browns, tans, shades of grey, and shades of white.
They also had a name of a delivery truck that they work with for those large item purchases. I haven’t been in a few years, since their move, but they used to be in the Vacaville Premium Outlets. A quick Google maps search looks like they’re now across the street from the Outlets next to a Walmart.
Hope those were useful to you and your home shopping needs!
