Today’s Personal Branding Session is with Catherine of College Crossroads. She’s an educational consultant in the San Francisco Bay Area. She advises high school students on the college application process. Catherine has moved her services from in-person sessions to a virtual model since early 2020 like many other businesses.
Team-Based Approach
With new websites, clients frequently work with website designers and photographers. The designer for this project was Savannah with Infinite Reach Creative. They completed a similar project for a different educational consultant and that’s how Catherine found out about their services. Infinite Reach Creative is based in Texas. But since their services are based online, they also work with clients in various locations.
The three of us came together on a call. During the call, we went through mood boards, branding styles, and shot lists together to make sure we were all aligned for the day of the shoot. The results look professional, polished, high-end, and custom. We made sure that Catherine had great headshots of her alone. And great shots of her working with students that she would potentially be working with.

Photos you should have for a Website
Any website should have a great photo of the person behind the website. But that’s what you want all the images you want on your site if you want a well-roundedlook. See what I’ve written about stock photos before here, and have added stock photos in packages to round out offerings for clients looking to complete their website.
It’s easy for me to pick out images in a similar style, color, and theme to what their business is about after discussing what their vision is for the site. This value add saves clients time and money searching for stock photos on their own, and provides an all-in-one solution for the person looking to pull a website together efficiently and beautifully.
The bonus stock photo package was expertly incorporated by Savannah in to various sections of the site. Images were chosen that match the look and feel of the brand we’re creating.

Various uses of your photos from a Branding Session
Since the website has gone live, I see that Catherine has used the photos not only for her website, but also for her LinkedIn profile. I list 30+ ways you can use your branding session here, so you’re able to receive tons of value from your initial investment!
Conclusion
Website designers, photographers, and clients all come together for the birth of a website. We all bring a different skillset and expertise to the table. After doing more clients and noting a gap in their needs, I’ve come up with a complete image solution for new website owners and those looking for a rebrand. The result is a more well-rounded set of photos that fit all the pages of your website without having to search in catalogs or other compilations of stock photos which can be overwhelming or not fit the style of the brand you’re creating. Clients have included educational consultants, birth educators, therapists, health coaches, and I’m excited to work with more professionals in the San Francisco Bay Area!
