Hannah moved her skincare studio last year to a beautiful historic building in the Lower Pacific Heights neighborhood of San Francisco. She was looking for a website refresh complete with branding photos to go along with her studio moving. Her previous photos were a few years old, and she wanted to showcase the new beautiful space she’s in.
I loved working with her because she is so clear on everything. Who she is, what her brand looks like, who her clients are, and just brought all that confidence to the session. To be honest, it was difficult to narrow down photos because she absolutely blew the session up!
We talked about how the pandemic brought along an increase in her online sales, but she already had photos of the products. She really wanted photos of her interacting with clients and of the new space that she curated and created.
My process of working with clients
Clear communication is important to me. We went through the Vision Boarding process to ensure we’re both on the same visual page before the shoot.
Since Hannah has gone through photoshoots before, she knew what to expect, and even wrote out the shot list for the type of shots she wanted.

Can you tell that the studio is under 200 sq ft?!
It’s a smaller room, but I wanted to highlight all the cute little vignettes that were there in the space and make it look more expansive than it was! The wider angle lens was working hard for me that day!
The space had windows on one side of the space. I brought lighting equipment with me to this so that the lighting looks even. Even light highlights Hannahs’s naturally beautiful skin.
Conclusion
Telling the story of your brand via your website is something that I love doing. I love that the shot lists are so different, the clients are so inspiring and awesome to work with, and we great to create awesome images together. I also love the range of clients I’ve worked with. Branding sessions with skin care consultants, therapists, educational consultants, to birth educators. It’s great to see women making an impact through their businesses!
