Sach Foods a new company based in San Francisco. They made paneer and hope to be able to bring it to market soon. Paneer, it’s a fresh Indian cheese. I was contacted by them to help take product photography, styled, and recipe photos for their business. Their session was at Bite Unite. The goal was to promote the versatility of paneer in various recipes and show their range of flavors. Paneer is high protein and low in carbs. Sach Foods has been to Off the Grid pop-ups and have plans to launch a Kickstarter soon!
Co-working kitchens in SF
Bite Unite, is a co-working kitchen in San Francisco and Hong Kong. The San Francisco location is also a cafe, offers business support, and has a range of class offerings. It’s similar to La Cocina, another co-working kitchen in SF.
It is encouraging to see these resources for people, largely female founders, to start their own businesses in areas like San Francisco where space and cost can be prohibitive to the early stages of business development. There was a very collaborative and supportive atmosphere between the owner, staff, and members of the kitchen. It felt more like a neighborhood cafe than a startup incubator.
Food entrepreneurs
Working with other people that are passionate about food is always a pleasure. People who value connection, sharing culture, and community with others. The founders of Sach, Jasleen and Tarush are a testament to good food people. They are kind, open-minded and passionate about developing and bringing vegetarian protein to the market.
Conclusion
Food entrepreneurs in the Bay Area have access to co-working kitchens. Bite United and La Cocina are the ones I’m aware of, but I hope that there are more out there outside the Bay Area. It’s always a pleasure for me to commercial food shoots with other like-minded people like the founders of Sach Foods. We share similar values of community, sharing culture, and connection to other people.
